It almost sounds like an incredible miracle story when George Talley was reunited with his 1979 Corvette after it was stolen on Jefferson Avenue almost 33 years ago. General Motors decided to return the vehicle to the rightful owner at General Motors World Headquarters which is just three miles from where the car was actually stolen. Talley mentioned that he was in love with his 1979 Chevrolet Corvette when he bought it and was stolen in 1981. He said that he was really excited to hear that General Motors found out the vehicle and called him up so that they can return the vehicle.
Talley also mentioned that he was a fan of the first generation Corvette and that is when he decided that he would buy one. Luckily, he had three more Corvettes, but he said that the 79 Corvette was his favorite one. It was Mark Reuss, Executive Vice President for GM Product Development who heard his story and offered him to ship his vehicle back to home in Detroit.
