There comes a time in everyone’s life when they need to grow up. It’s inevitable that at some point we all have to change our priorities. Focus less on ourselves and more on the people around us, especially our families!

One of the biggest changes in life we make is starting a family ourselves. This is a daunting task at the best of times, and many of the little things that you didn’t think about are sometimes the biggest. It is quite simple for example to head out to the grocery store and pick up diapers if you forget; it is less easy however to fit a new car seat into your sporty two-door cabriolet. A task dubbed by many as impossible.

You would be forgiven for thinking that a simple change up to a four-door saloon car would be enough. But how long is it going to be before your child has a sibling or joins a sports team? You could end up driving them and their friends around heading to games. Bigger is better, get an SUV or a minivan.

Some of the best choices for a larger vehicle come from the usual sources, and that is because they are so good at what they do. For example, manufacturers such as Ford, GMC, Chevrolet, Lincoln, Jeep, and Cadillac. A good recommendation would be the Ford Escape, a fantastic vehicle with just what a growing family needs.

So now you have your new vehicle, here are some top tips and product ideas to help smooth those long journeys and school runs out:

  • Turn on those safety locks – located on the door of most if not all modern vehicles are door locks. They enable the safe opening and closing of the doors from the outside. Preventing little ones from inadvertently opening the door from the inside and getting injured.
  • Dog Gate – One thing that is going to help out a lot on those long drives is being able to keep your pets under control. If your dog was used to just laying out on the back seat you may find that since babies arrive, he is a little more preoccupied with a new family member. Fitting a dog gate to the rear of your vehicle provides a safe environment for your pet and your child. It allows you to keep your focus safely on the road in front of where it should be.
  • Car Seats – Ensure that you pick up a good quality car seat that is compatible with your chosen vehicle and that you fit it or get it fitted by a professional. Car seats make all the difference in an impact. Make sure if you do have a prang that you get a new car seat asap.
  • Entertainment – On those long journeys there is nothing better than in-car DVDs, they help keep your children amused and save you from the continued cries of “are we there yet??” A real lifesaver for adults!
