The old Acura RL was one of those cars that were nailed firmly to the dealership floor because of its reliability, comfort and performance. Finally, Acura revealed its new 2014 RLX luxury sedan model under the RL flagship with lots of notable improvements.

The new 2014 Acura RLX measures a 2 inch increased length of 196.1 inch, 74.4 inch width, 57.7 inch height and a wheelbase of 112.2 inches. The 2 inch increase made the interior roomy and more comfortable offering a legroom of 38.8 inches that is pretty good as compared to its rivals including Audi A6, Mercedes E-Class and Lexus GS.

The exterior features are LED headlamps, a sunroof and the old beaky grille is removed, however, the exterior changes are very few and people want more changes to make a distinction.

The new 2014 Acura RLX is available in five trim levels on the basis of technologies and innovative features. The interior standard features are keyless entry, heated front seats with memory functions, eight way power front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, rearview camera, 10 speaker ELS sound system with a CD player, SMS-text to speech capability, Bluetooth, digital music storage, MAP enabled phones, HD radio and satellite radio and USB/iPod interface. Moving up to different trim levels, you will get an increase in innovative features and price.

Engine and Performance

The 2014 Acura RLX comes equipped with 3.5 liter 24 valve V6 engine that generates 310 horsepower and a torque of 272 pound feet. The engine is mated with a six speed automatic transmission with manual shifting. The EPA fuel economy is 20 mpg city and 31 mpg highway and the car accelerates from 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds.

Safety

The standard safety features of the 2014 Acura RLX include front, side, full length side curtain and driver’s knee airbags, antilock disc brakes, rearview camera and moving up to other trim levels will offer you some more technologically advance safety specs as standard features.

The 2014 Acura RLX starts selling at a price of $49,345. There are different well known brands against the 2014 Acura RLX that offer tough competition in different terms. Top rivals are Mercedes E-Class, Honda Accord, Lexus GS 350, Cadillac XTS, BMW 5 series, Hyundai Genesis and Audi A6.
